Classic Beef Burger
Juicy homemade burgers using premium ground beef.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 brioche buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, onion
- Your favorite condiments
Instructions
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties slightly larger than your buns.
- Make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
- Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat grill or cast iron to high heat.
- Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side for medium.
- Add cheese in the last minute of cooking.
- Toast buns lightly on the grill.
- Assemble with your favorite toppings.
Chef's Tips
Don't overwork the meat when forming patties - this keeps them tender. Let patties rest 2 minutes after cooking.
